Dual-Use Ventures

MIT Mission Innovation X.

Role: Co-organized 2020–2023; led since 2024.

What it is

An immersive short course at MIT on building ventures that serve both government and commercial customers: non-dilutive funding, dual-market strategies, and intellectual property protection, with cases drawn from aerospace, AI, energy, and manufacturing. The audience is entrepreneurs, technologists, and public and private sector professionals, alongside students from MIT and other institutions. The January 2026 session ran on campus January 28 and 29. Participants contribute to a whitepaper authored in parallel with the course; that series produced The Allied Paper (2025) and the 2026 Dual-Use Horizon Report.
